2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S

2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo SAt the world media introduction in Dubai, UAE, for the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, Michael La Fave discovers the new 520-hp SUV has multiple personalities. Truly an excess vehicle for the rich and rich.  I saw one in our neighbourhood grocery store doing what it does best.  Car seat out back, sitting in front of the store idling while the wife was inside picking up a few things.  It has presence.....

Why is half the article not about the Porsche and the half that is really doesn't say much about it?

Anyway....I actually like the looks of Cayenne and would love to drive one.  Would never buy one because I have other Porsches that I prefer to own plus I'm not really a SUV type.

Fully loaded at $200K? Even if I won the lottery I would not consider this vehicle. Not for me.

I as well...

I found it actually quite cramped inside compared to it's competitors.

I agree, the interior especially the rear is quite cramped, my murano has way more room.

it's kind of obvious that 2.7t vehicle can accelerate like crazy with 520hp [assuming that usual C TS have few more hp]; but just btw: at vmax fuel consumption is over 60l/100km (98 octan EU)

// not bad assuming 612hp MB G Brabus with 70-80l/100km average if driven hard

Let's be honest...  you don't buy the Cayanne Turbo S based on its interior space, or whether it will get 50 mpg.  You buy it because when you stomp the gas pedal, you're leaving 98% of the cars on the road behind you.  Waaaaay behind you.

I have to disagree with you, you buy the Cayenne Turbo S b/c your next door neighbour has the Cayenne Turbo and you want to be better, or b/c someone else you know has a Turbo or a Range Rover and you want the baddest SUV (ie: most expensive) on the block
